Individual Therapy for High-Achieving & South Asian Adults
Mindfulness-Based Therapy in California, Illinois & New York
You may be outwardly successful, capable, and relied upon, yet internally exhausted, anxious, or quietly struggling. Many of the individuals I work with are high-achieving professionals and South Asian adults who have spent years holding it together, meeting expectations, and prioritizing responsibility over rest.
Individual therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin relating to yourself with more clarity, compassion, and ease.
Who I Work With
I provide individual therapy for adults who may be navigating:
- Anxiety, overthinking, and chronic stress
- Burnout, emotional exhaustion, and overwhelm
- Perfectionism and harsh self-criticism
- Cultural and family expectations
- Identity questions, life transitions, or feeling “stuck”
- High-functioning or high-achieving patterns that mask deeper distress
Many clients come in unsure how to name what they’re experiencing, only knowing that something no longer feels sustainable. Therapy doesn’t require you to have it all figured out before you begin.
What Individual Therapy Is Like With Me
My work is mindfulness-based, integrative, and relational. Sessions are collaborative and paced with care, offering both depth and practical support.
Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, we explore:
- How your nervous system responds to stress
- Patterns shaped by early experiences, culture, and responsibility
- The inner pressure to perform, achieve, or stay strong
- What helps you feel more grounded, present, and connected
Therapy with me is not about fixing you, it’s about helping you understand yourself more fully, soften self-judgment, and create space for choice rather than compulsion.
You can learn more about my therapeutic orientation on the Mindfulness-Based Therapy Approach page.
A Culturally-Attuned Space
As a first-generation Indian American and Gujarati therapist, I understand how cultural values, such as duty, achievement, loyalty, and family obligation, can shape emotional life in complex ways.
Many South Asian clients share that they’ve felt misunderstood in past therapy or hesitant to speak openly about family, identity, or cultural pressure. In our work together, you don’t have to explain the basics or minimize the weight of these dynamics.
I offer therapy that is culturally attuned, respectful, and grounded, without assumptions or judgment.
