About Arati
Arati Patel, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and mindfulness-based clinician specializing in anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout among high-performing professionals. She is the founder of a private practice serving clients in California, Illinois, and New York, with in-person sessions in Ventura, California.
Arati’s work is rooted in an integrative, depth-oriented approach that weaves together mindfulness, somatic awareness, and culturally attuned therapy. Drawing from training in yoga psychology, Buddhist psychology, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), she helps clients move beyond surface-level coping to understand the deeper patterns driving stress, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm.
As a first-generation South Asian American, Arati is especially known for her work with individuals navigating cultural expectations, identity, and the pressure to succeed while appearing “fine” on the outside. Her approach is both grounding and direct, helping clients build self-awareness, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with a more authentic and sustainable way of living.
In addition to her clinical work, Arati has served as adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute, teaching in the Counseling Psychology program. Her insights on mental health, mindfulness, and modern stress have been featured in Time Magazine, AskMen, The Good Trade, The Juggernaut, Nice News, and Her Agenda.
