Couples Therapy for South Asian & Multicultural Relationships

Honor your roots. Heal together. Grow in connection.

Being in a relationship can feel like walking between worlds—especially when cultural expectations, family roles, and personal values collide.

As a South Asian therapist, I understand the unique dynamics that come up in South Asian, Indian, Desi and multicultural relationships. Whether you’re navigating differences in upbringing, intergenerational expectations, or feeling caught between individual desires and family obligations, couples therapy offers a grounded, nonjudgmental space to explore and heal—together.

You’re not alone if you and your partner are struggling with:

  • Communication breakdowns or emotional disconnection

  • Tension between family expectations and personal boundaries

  • Cultural or religious differences

  • Interfaith or intercaste relationship stress

  • Pressure to meet external definitions of a “successful” relationship

  • Guilt or conflict around caregiving roles and obligations

  • Identity struggles (first-gen, immigrant, bicultural experiences)

  • Preparing for marriage in a culturally complex context

My Approach

As a South Asian, holistic, and mindfulness-based therapist, I bring cultural sensitivity and deep presence into every session. I help couples identify patterns, reconnect to their values, and practice new ways of relating with authenticity and respect. Sessions move at your pace, and I create space for both partners to feel heard and understood—without taking sides. My approach blends Eastern and Western perspectives—drawing from mindfulness, yoga psychology, and relational therapy to help couples:

  • Recognize and shift unhelpful patterns

  • Deepen emotional intimacy and understanding

  • Improve communication and emotional regulation

  • Explore cultural and familial dynamics with curiosity and compassion

  • Rebuild trust and alignment in your relationship

Who I Work With

  • Interracial or intercultural couples

  • First-generation and immigrant couples balancing two worlds

  • Queer South Asian couples navigating identity and belonging
